About & Methodology

All character data comes from the official, public AION 2 character pages run by NC. We read the same information anyone can see there: level, combat power, gear, skills, stigmas, Daevanion boards, titles, wings and pets. We use no logins, no private data and no combat logs.

Requests are made one at a time and slowly, at most one every 1 seconds, with a daily limit. If the official site shows signs of overload, collection pauses for several hours.

The official search cannot sort by combat power, so there is no complete ranking to copy. We discover level-45 characters through the search and read their combat power one by one: these are the tracked characters. A class page shows the top 100 tracked characters of that class by combat power, labelled for example “top 100 of 2,431 tracked”.

The pool of tracked characters grows over time. It is a sample, not a census of every player. Each page states the cohort size, the number of tracked characters and the time of the last update.

• New characters: every 3 days.
• Combat power of tracked characters: continuously, within the daily limit.
• Builds of the top characters: every 2 days.
• Class statistics: recalculated after each build update, at most once an hour.
• Character checks: on request, usually within seconds to minutes. A fresh result is reused for 30 minutes.

• No skill specializations: the official pages do not show them.
• No combat performance: no damage numbers, no logs, no clear times. Combat power is the game’s own rating.
• Combat power is live data and can change within minutes.
• Manastones, godstones and soul binding are not part of the comparison yet.
• Some German item and title names appear in English until they have been seen on the German character pages.

Character data is personal data. Character pages are not indexed by search engines, only the latest snapshot of each character is kept (no combat power history), and characters that are no longer tracked are deleted 30 days after we last saw them. Every character can be hidden from this site.
